This makes the game easier regardless of player skill level. At a certain point the only things you unlock are upgrades to skills, making your skills better. When you get better at the game you need the game to have a higher difficulty to give you a challenge. If I have somehow misunderstood what you where going for here please correct me because this is just baffling. Every game is beaten via learning its system and through doing so you are always going to find it easier due to this. The only possible way I see to solve this 'problem' would be to make a game unbeatable. Its about increasing your skills and knowledge of a game to overcome the challenge and beat it. I find it confusing that you think getting better at playing a game over time is a bad thing? Also how is this something that is the Devs fault? This is kind of the point of Video Games in the first place. Very difficult to avoid with a lot of games tho. As you play and get better at the game the game also requires less skill. I always feel there is something iffy with the game design when the game it'self gets easier with more playtime.

However after unlocking all the items you begin unlocking extra effects to your skills. So essentialy you are just adding bad items into your item pool. There is a period of time where you are unlocking items that give you minions and they are all among the worst items.
